Dashbrd Collector — Extension Terms

Last updated: April 20, 2026

These Extension Terms apply to your use of the Dashbrd Collector browser extension (the “Extension”) and supplement the main Dashbrd Terms of Service and Privacy Policy. By installing or using the Extension, you agree to these Extension Terms.

1. What the Extension does

When you install the Extension and authenticate it with a Dashbrd Collector API token, it reads structured content from pages you yourself open in your own authenticated browser session, specifically:

  • LinkedIn profile pages (linkedin.com/in/*) — name, headline, current title, current company, public profile URL.
  • LinkedIn connection list (linkedin.com/mynetwork/invite-connect/connections/) — triggered only when you click “Scan my LinkedIn connections” in the Extension popup.
  • LinkedIn people search results and “People You May Know” cards — captured passively while you browse those pages.
  • Gmail messages (mail.google.com) — signature blocks at the bottom of emails you read. Only the signature block is captured; other message content is not.

All reading happens inside your own browser tab using your own authenticated session. Dashbrd’s servers never store your LinkedIn or Gmail credentials, session cookies, or authentication tokens for those services. Captured records are queued locally in the Extension and batch-uploaded every 30 seconds (or manually via “Sync now”) to dashbrd.ai.

2. Your responsibility

LinkedIn, Google, and Microsoft each have their own terms of service that govern how you use their services, including restrictions on automated activity. Although the Extension only reads pages you yourself view and mimics ordinary user interaction, these third parties may still restrict accounts that appear to automate browsing. You acknowledge and agree that:

  • You are solely responsible for your use of any third-party service via the Extension.
  • LinkedIn’s User Agreement restricts automated collection of LinkedIn data; although hiQ Labs v. LinkedIn established that scraping publicly accessible pages does not violate the Computer Fraud and Abuse Act, LinkedIn may still restrict accounts for breach of its terms.
  • You will not use the Extension to bypass rate limits, disable safety mechanisms, or collect data in volumes that would be impossible through normal browsing.
  • You will not install or use the Extension on a LinkedIn, Gmail, or Outlook account that you are not personally authorized to operate.

3. Rate limits & safeguards

The Extension enforces these safeguards, which you agree not to modify or disable:

  • Scroll and scan rate capped at ≤ 2 actions per second on any LinkedIn path.
  • Maximum ~3,000 connection captures per “Scan my connections” run.
  • Per-URL deduplication within a session — the Extension does not re-capture the same profile twice.
  • Connection scans are user-triggered; the Extension does not autonomously run LinkedIn queries in the background.

4. Data sent to Dashbrd

The only data the Extension sends to Dashbrd servers is the structured records described in Section 1, plus the API token that authenticates your device. The Extension never reads or transmits:

  • Passwords or session cookies for any site.
  • Pages on sites other than those listed in Section 1.
  • Form data you type into sites.
  • Your general browsing history.
  • Payment or financial information.

See the Privacy Policy for how Dashbrd stores and uses the data you contribute.

5. Tokens & revocation

Collector API tokens are scoped to your Dashbrd user account within your tenant. Only a SHA-256 hash of each token is stored server-side. You can revoke any token from Scout → Settings → Collector tokens; revocation takes effect immediately and any further sync attempt from the Extension will return 401 Unauthorized.

6. Updates

The Extension updates automatically through the Chrome Web Store. You may uninstall the Extension at any time from chrome://extensions. Uninstalling stops all capture immediately and removes any queued records on the local device.

7. Termination

We may disable the Extension for users who breach these Extension Terms or whose use creates a risk to Dashbrd, other users, or third-party services. We will provide reason and, where reasonably possible, an opportunity to cure.
